Bachna Ae Haseeno – Movie Review

bah

Apun Ka Choice: Now, here’s at last a Yashraj film you cannot say Bachna to! Bachna Ae Haseeno is an eminently watchable film with its own share of glitches. The movie’s isn’t exceptional. But it’s definitely, definitely worth a watch.

CNN-IBN:
Bachna Ae Haseeno is not entirely unwatchable. A big reason why this film doesn’t entirely suck is because of its inspired cast who put their best foot forward. Despite its strengths, the film isn’t terribly good, and that’s a pity because it most definitely could have been. Ultimately, it’s an average film, at best time-pass viewing.

Glamsham: There’s Thoda Pyaar, Thoda Yaar and Thoda forgiveness ka magic in Yash Raj Film’s Bachna Ae Haseeno, which has Ranbir Kapoor keeping the Kapoor flag flying high, successfully shouldering the film with the confidence in his abilities as a performer.

Hindustan Times:
Dilwale sorry bol jayenge!

bachna2

IndiaFM: On the whole, Bachna Ae Haseeno has an interesting first half, but a weak second hour spoils the show. At the box-office, thanks to the hype built around the film, the opening weekend should be great, but beyond that, has tough chances of sustaining.

New York Times:
Mr. Kapoor doesn’t fully convince as a cad. He comes into his own, though, in the remorse and redemption sequences. Blame it on his puppy-dog sweetness, a quality that will serve him well as a Bollywood leading man.

bachna3

Now Running: Cleverly crafted and structured to contour the severely flawed characters, Bachna Ae Haseeno is not meant to be a mammoth social comment on love and marriage. But in its own tongue-in-cheek manner it manages to say plenty about life in the fast lane.

Rediff:
Bachna Ae Haseeno is well shot, competently performed and the writing shows glimpses of honest-to-goodness subtext and intelligent character development. If only the second half wasn’t as predictable as it is, the film was an hour shorter and every one-liner wasn’t accompanied by a burst of background score acting like a laugh track, we could have had a really good film. As it stands now, it’s watchable time-pass fare.

Times Of India: Here is a crackling bunch of gals and guys, who mirror the mores and manners of modern India, even as they re-live the traditional Bollywood fable of ishq-vishq, pyar-mohabbat. And leading the bratpack – or should we say, carrying the film through – is the smart, sassy, superbly relaxed brat-boy Ranbir Kapoor, who amply proves that he’s a complete natural before the arc-lights. Truly, a chip off the old block (Rishi Kapoor).

Ravi: Why the media (spoil) every good movie?! I still didn’t read any positive reviews from all the above mentioned. They (must) ruin any good movie even if it’s a flawless and a very good one like this movie (Bachana Ae Haseeno)
The movie wasn’t that long, it’s normal for any indian movie to be 2 1/2 an hour! If the director would’ve listened to them and chopped ( an hour) as it’s mentioned in one of above reviews, he’d have spoiled his movie!! What r these idiot r writing?! R they just jealous and want to spoil any director’s good work as they did for LS2050 which was a brilliant movie in terms of direction, production, special effect, music and songs, performance, costumes, script! What the audience wants from watching any movie except to have some good time and watch a new script, even a repeated script is acceptable by the audience if the movie was done in a new and a different direction e.g. Bachna Ae Hasino. It’s a perfect movie with a new script. So guys/girls, don’t ever believe in these reviews on websites and just go and watch it and u will enjoy. Most of u didn’t enjoy Saawariya for Ranbir ’cause of indoors shooting but this one is different, and the sceneries in Switzerland and Italy r amazing in the movie.

Ranbir is excellent, very talented. I’m sure he will reach the top in bollywood.

I think the movie bombed cos public is still going through furore of Singh is Kingh . they probably dont want to spoil the lingering affect yet .
I have seen worst movies like partner getting hit on box office
Simply a case of Wrong time wrong place movie .
Also i think movie crtocs should know the pulse of public , Shabana azmi types of film crtics should be on house arrest . i like the reviews on this site though ..all of them all at one place , excellent saves me the trouble.

I watched it twice in cinema, and all the family enjoyed watching it. It’s doing well at the box office in India, as I read in one of websites, as well as our country Bahrain.
Although people r attracted to Akshay Kumar’s Singh is Kinng, Punjabi & Pakistani people r killing themselves on indicine website for the movie, as they just want Akshay Kumar to win the title (King of Bollywood) so unfair for Shahrukh, everyone loved Shahrukh and noone ever said anything bad about him, but obviously these people (hate him) and jealous and just want him to be defeated! They’re trying to say negative things about Shahrukh. Silly people.

So if Singh is Kinng wasn’t already released, BAH would’ve been a blockbuster movie.

I’ve watched the film. Ranbir is looking really nice. Really very impressive performance. But I didn’t like Deepika Padukone here. Bachna Ae Haseeno is an average type of movie.

@Anurag Mishra – Hi buddy!

Life is very hectic these days. I’m spending 15 hours at work and by the time I reach home, I’m dead tired and just sleep like a baby!

Hopefully, in coming days, I would be more active on the blogging front. I hope, all my readers would forgive me for my absence..

Cheers!

Ya! Even i don’t understand why media is spoiling every movie. Different people ,different perceptions. How can media judge a movie on there own means..I watched that movie twice, i loved & enjoy the movie. Ranbir Rocks!!! You are awesome!!
