On Saturday afternoon, John Abraham fractured his right foot while playing cricket. The actor injured himself when Indian cricketer Laxmipathy Balaji bowled a fast one.
The accident happened while shooting for Hook Ya Crook at the BPCL grounds in Chembur.
A source from the set said, “The scene was that of a cricket training camp, where fast bowlers like Abey Kuruvilla and Balaji were bowling to John, who plays a cricketer in the film.”
David Dhawan, director of the film, said, “John was injured with a Balaji yorker, which hit him at a speed of 130 kms per hour. Although John was wearing cricketing shoes, the moment the ball hit him, everyone knew he was hurt quite badly.
The production team immediately applied ice to his swollen foot. But John said, ‘I am all right’ and we continued shooting for five hours. But, when John wore his chappals after we packed up, I was shocked to see that his foot had turned green and was swollen.”
David added, “John went to the Lilavati hospital in the evening where the doctor told him that he had fractured his foot. Now, his foot is in a cast and the shoot will resume only after he recovers.”
