It’s a string of firsts for Preity Zinta, who is turning designer by co-creating a signature black dress for her maiden production Ishq in Paris, directed by Prem Soni. The dress will be along the lines of Audrey Hepburn‘s classic look in the iconic film Breakfast At Tiffany’s.
Says a source close to Preity, “Her film, based on the Parisienne fashion industry, will see her sport the best international fashion from local designers and across the world. Though all her other outfits have been designed by Surily Goel, Preity wants to sport one specific trademark outfit that she will design along with Surily. Depending on the response to her outfit, she might decide to come out with her own signature collection after her film releases.”
Preity plays a very important part in the film and is also experimenting with her look.
“PZ wants a completely different look. The dress will be sleek, chic and elegant complete with a hat, jewellery and shoes a la Audrey Hepburn’s look in Breakfast At Tiffany’s.”
Preity, on her part, says, “It’s too early to comment on the dress I am designing, but yes, I am excited to be working on the outfit for Ishq In Paris. The look is going to be on the lines of something you’d see on ruinways in Paris and Milan and it’s the signature dress I sport in the film.” When quizzed about the launch of a fashion line she confirms, “Yes! I am thinking of launching a fashion line. Hopefully, it will all work out soon.”
Director Prem Soni adds, “Preity plays a chic Parisienne in the film and her look is classic yet very global.”
The actress launched her own production banner this year. Ishq In Paris is a romcom and will have French actors along with Indian stars.
