shaurya Shaurya Movie Review

Apun Ka Choice: Shaurya is not so much about patriotism as it is about values like righteousness, integrity, justice and self-belief. The battleground in Shaurya is a courtroom and the fight is for truth. Needless to say truth wins in the end, but how that truth unfolds or is made to unfold by the protagonist, is what keeps you glued to the screen throughout the second half of Shaurya.

CNN-IBN: Shaurya is well made and has some truly likeable moments, but in the final analysis, it is at best an average film.

DNA India: Not so brave!

Glamsham: Kay Kay Menon, along with Rahul Bose and the supporting cast, rise up to nullify the effect of a weak script, to tighten the loose ends towards the end with electrifying performances.

Hindustan Times: Quite a feud court!

IndiaFM: On the whole, Shaurya is a well-made film that will have to rely on a strong word of mouth, to sustain in the coming days. However, the film deserves to be tax-exempted, since it’s a genuinely deserving case.

Now Running: It takes vision and courage to make a film about the de-escalating valour and plummeting morale of the Indian Army. Shaurya is about the army, but it isn’t a war film. The battles are all fought at the level of individual conscience. But never does it get preachy. Watch Shaurya for its compelling and positively gripping insight into the heart and mind of the average Indian who hides his subconscious biases in the garb of fashionable liberalism.

Rediff: A complete rip-off of Hollywood movie A Few Good Men, Shaurya’s story falls too pat. The fact remains that, tight and loyal adherence to a great script ensure a pretty watchable film, which is what happens to Shaurya for the most part, as its characters consistently quote their Hollywood counterparts in verbatim translations, but in a misguided attempt at finding ‘original’ ground, director Samar Khan muddles up the endgame and makes this a painfully simplistic look at war crimes and communalism.

Times Of India: Shaurya is a surprise package, that for once, does not equate pride and honour for the country with killing those across borders. Instead, it takes an introspective look at the sentinels of our country and gets reflective about the questionables within: prejudice, bias, antagonism that prevent fair play from a few good men that make up the country’s premier institution.

its an intelligent movie meant for a select mature audience. it truly reflects the ‘hitlerism’ of top post holders and shows amazingly the fight for the rights.
